Abstract
This article aims to investigate how remote work has influenced labor relations in the mining sector, a segment historically characterized by physical presence and rigid operational practices. Using a qualitative and descriptive approach, the study analyzes aspects related to organizational culture, team management, productivity, and workers’ well-being, considering the effects of transformations intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey was conducted with workers and leaders in the sector to understand their perceptions regarding the challenges and possibilities of adopting remote work in administrative and management activities. The results indicate that, although flexibility provides benefits such as greater autonomy and efficiency, it also highlights difficulties related to communication, team alignment, and equity between on-site and remote functions. The study contributes to the understanding of emerging changes in the mining sector and offers support for organizations seeking to adapt their practices to new demands of the world of work, such as the flexibilization of work models, the digitalization of organizational processes, and the strengthening of new forms of leadership and people management oriented toward results and workers’ well-being.
