Abstract
This work presents the development of a supervisory system prototype for real-time monitoring of data collected in a production process, enabling the optimization of data collection related to production, logistics, quality, safety, and industrial maintenance. The prototype stands out as a cost-effective alternative compared to solutions provided by well-established manufacturers, due to the use of open-architecture software and low-cost hardware, as well as the possibility of using Wi-Fi protocol communication for data exchange between devices, reducing the complexity found in wired systems. The prototype consists of a Nextion touchscreen display for human-machine interaction, an ESP32 microcontroller acting as a Modbus TCP/IP client/server over a Wi-Fi network, a Siemens S7-1200 PLC for machinery management and control, and a supervisory system developed in Visual Studio to graphically display data on a dedicated computer screen. This work explores related concepts, analyzes similar studies, describes the development process, presents conclusions, and suggests directions for future research.
