Abstract
This article reviews the literature to investigate the relationship between telework and Quality of Work Life (QWL), aiming to identify risks, prevention strategies, impacts on health and performance, and the role of companies and public policies. The methodology employed a bibliometric-based protocol, using search terms that included the relationship between quality of work life and telework, as well as their variations, in their titles. The intention of this type of search was to reduce potential biases and subjectivities. Furthermore, the results were restricted to articles published in Portuguese between 2015 and 2025 for analysis before and after the pandemic. The database used was the Web of Science. As a result, new articles were obtained that met specific criteria, namely case studies or field research in specific contexts. These articles demonstrated that remote work can be chosen as a modality with high potential for QWL, but requires strategic approaches to mitigate risks to worker health. Among the main positive impacts of teleworking on QWL (Quality of Working Life) are increased productivity, greater worker autonomy, greater flexibility in working hours, reduced commuting time, and the possibility of reconciling personal and professional life. On the other hand, the articles highlighted some factors that negatively impacted QWL, such as increased demands, professional isolation, improvised workstations, lack of immediate communication with the organization, mental and physical overload, and increased stress and anxiety. Thus, at the end of the study, some alternatives are proposed for improving QWL, given that a significant influence of the type of work on the worker's quality of life can be observed.
