Abstract
The proposal for this Interactive Handbook emerged from the results of a research project linked to a master's dissertation within the PROFEPT program at the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG), titled "BURNOUT SYNDROME AS A WORKPLACE DISEASE IN VET: A Proposal for Improving the Promotion of Mental Health for IFMG Employees." Both the research and this educational product are part of Line 2 "Organization and Memories of Pedagogical Spaces in Vocational and Technical Education (VET)" within the program, which addresses the processes of conception and organization of pedagogical spaces in Vocational and Technical Education, focusing on transversal and interdisciplinary strategies that enable comprehensive training, supported by work as an educational principle and research as a pedagogical principle, in both formal and non-formal spaces. It also considers the temporal construction through studies on the memory of Vocational and Technical Education, which over time have shaped the teaching processes and the organization of its pedagogical spaces. The research and this Handbook are also part of Macroproject 6 of the program – Organization of VET Pedagogical Spaces – which encompasses projects that address issues related to the organization and planning of pedagogical spaces, aiming to develop strategies for the management of an institution of VET, such as IFMG. BURNOUT SYNDROME WHEN WORK SICKENS. The objective of the research was to analyze the actions related to the mental health promotion policies for IFMG employees, particularly those concerning Burnout, available on the IFMG website. The results of this research revealed some gaps, as there is still little material disseminated on this topic. Therefore, this Handbook serves as a contribution for IFMG to reflect on its actions aimed at promoting mental health policies for its employees and also for the entire community to better understand Burnout Syndrome. It represents the institution's first initiative on the subject, with many more to come.
