Abstract
The educational documentary “Voices that Resist: The Indigenous Question in the Classroom” proposes a reflection on the importance of valuing Indigenous histories and cultures in the construction of a pluralistic and democratic school. Produced as an educational product of the Professional Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), the short film discusses the relevance of Law No. 11.645/2008 in confronting historical silencing, ethnocentrism, and structural prejudices that still persist in the school environment. By highlighting processes of ethnogenesis and movements of decolonization of knowledge, the short film reinforces the urgency of an education that recognizes Indigenous peoples as contemporary historical subjects and promotes social justice through the appreciation of Brazilian cultural diversity.
