Abstract
The constant use of finite environmental resources over time has triggered concerns about the well-being of society, since the environment can influence the quality of human life. As a result, society increasingly seeks to replace activities that are harmful to the environment with alternatives that are harmless to it. Given this context of environmental well-being, solar energy has proven to be very efficient in terms of preserving the environment, since the sun is an inexhaustible resource. At the same time, it is possible to observe the contribution of the automobile sector with regard to the implementation of electric vehicles, since they do not emit toxic gases into the environment. Thus, this Final Course Work will present a project for a photovoltaic system connected to the electrical grid that powers an electric car socket that will be installed at IFMG Formiga campus. The campus electrical grid will be analyzed in order to find the best location for installing the socket. In addition, reliable websites were consulted to obtain relevant parameters for sizing the project. The number of photovoltaic modules needed to supply the electric car's socket is calculated. Economic feasibility calculations were carried out that reveal certainty about the return on this investment.
