Abstract
This study discusses depression in the workplace, focusing on the identification of emotional signs and strategies to support employees. The research is based on the understanding that mental suffering has reached worrying proportions, directly influencing professional performance and workers’ quality of life. The general objective was to observe practices that may promote psychological well-being within organizations, especially in high-demand sectors such as mining. The methodology adopted was qualitative, including interviews with employees who shared their experiences of anxiety, stress, work overload, and emotional difficulties experienced in the workplace. The results indicate that lack of recognition, pressure to meet targets, and the absence of support channels are factors that intensify mental suffering. It was also observed that most respondents perceive mental health as an essential element, yet one that is still rarely discussed within companies. The study highlights the importance of strengthening internal policies for the promotion of emotional health, creating spaces for dialogue, and ensuring professional support for workers, contributing to more humane and safer work environments.
