Abstract
This study focused on the analysis of social technology applied to family farming. It presented the following guiding questions and problems: what does the scientific literature indicate about the use of social technology for family farming? What are the trends in the study of this topic? Thus, the general objective of this study was to analyze the publications on social technologies for family farming, through a systematic review of the literature on the CAPES Periodicals Platform. To this end, a bibliographic analysis was carried out through a systematic approach to the literature; this study was also configured as a descriptive study. For data collection, a research protocol was created and the platform used was Capes Periodicals, with the search term “social technologies for family farming”, with no stipulated time limit and in Portuguese. The collection took place from April 12 to 22, 2024. Based on the refinement of the research and application of the exclusion parameters, 11 articles were selected for this study. The 11 articles were read in full and their content and categorization was analyzed. The results were first analyzed according to the general categorization, which indicated the years 2020 and 2022 as the years with the highest number of publications when showing the number of articles published annually. The main Qualis CAPES classifications of the journals of the selected articles was B3 with the greatest predominance, which demonstrated good scientific and academic quality. Regarding the methodology adopted in these studies, it was found that the qualitative approach was predominant, and as for the objects of study of the articles, they were mostly from the South and Northeast regions. In the analysis of the theoretical basis, the most referenced work among the studies was the study by Mattos and Farias Júnior (2011) on the Biodigester. The categories created were: biodigester technology, water social technology, agroecology, agricultural mechanization, beekeeping and the role of the public agent in social technology. It is concluded that, despite many social technologies available, they are found in a dispersed manner in the literature due to the specificity of each one's application. The systematic review conducted for this study concluded that the publications are recent and presented a low volume of scientific articles specifically addressing social technologies for family farming. The trend of studies focused on technologies related to the use of biodigesters, water technologies, agroecology, agricultural mechanization, beekeeping and the importance of the role of public agents in the implementation of these technologies.
